Good to know

Detail, clarity & finishing

Fine detail

Resin holds crisp text, filigree and small features that FDM can't reproduce.

Clear parts

Transparent and semi-transparent options; high optical clarity needs extra finishing (quoted).

Watertight files

Send a closed, manifold STL. We'll flag anything that isn't print-ready before you pay.

File requirements

STL preferred (OBJ / 3MF accepted). Closed, watertight mesh. Not sure it's ready? Send it and we'll check.

Lead time

Most resin jobs turn around quickly; we confirm the exact timing with your quote and can advise on rush work.

Finishing

Light sanding and support removal included. Priming, painting and polishing are quoted separately.

Resin printing FAQ

What can resin printing do that FDM can't?

Resin captures much finer detail and smoother surfaces, and prints fully transparent or translucent parts. It's the right choice for jewellery, miniatures, intricate models and display pieces where finish matters.

Can you print clear / see-through parts?

Yes — we print both fully transparent and semi-transparent (frosted) resin for lenses, light pipes, diffusers and see-through display parts. Truly optical clarity needs extra finishing, which we'll quote per part.

How is resin priced?

By weight: each resin is priced per gram and your instant quote multiplies that by the part weight, including a support allowance. Orders are subject to a £20 minimum, and prices exclude VAT.

How big can you print?

We print everything from tiny detailed parts to large-format pieces, and can split and bond larger models. Send your STL for an instant estimate, or ask us if you're unsure about size.

Do you finish resin prints?

Light sanding and support removal are included. Priming, spray painting, polishing and presentation-level finishing are available and quoted separately.
